Got the doors on and ordered a bunch of glass and weatherstrip related stuff. I hope to get all of the glass in the cab before too long.

And the mirror backet!

Thanks for the compliments. It's been a little slow recently. We've been refurb'ing all of the window parts. Next week after the NSRA Nationals in Louisville the glass guy should have some time to get the glass cut and installed.

After that, the rest of the parts are pretty close to being ready to paint, just need blocked and potentially primed again -then blocked (you know the routine), but they are pretty close.

I still have a lot of little detailed work that will take time, but I'm excited to see it start to come together.

Hey Brandon, what gas tank did you use and how did you mount it? I inherited my father-n-laws '52 Mercury truck and am wanting to move the one in it.

Brent,

I am using a fuel cell, I think 12 gallon. It's been so darn long ago that I would have to check the capacity. We added a crossmember behind the rear axle for the shocks and also added one all the way at the rear of the frame. I picked up some 301 Stainless from my employer at the time about 1" wide that had been #1 edged or skived. basically pulled through a set of carbide inserts to round the edge. It is sometimes called a safety edge and is used for hose clamps and aircraft clamps etc. Anyway, we bent them to fit the tank and used them similarly to how gas tank straps are used in most cars, but instead of pulling the tank up against the body, we had a top and bottom strap.

I will look back through my pics to see if I have a good picture that shows it. It's nothing special once you see it. I plan to have the filler access in/through the bed floor.
