What is the difference between the LS Series flywheel and clutch combinations ??

I work at a Chevy Dealer and I've sold several LS7 clutches to guys with LS1 and LS6 Camaros.
So I figure the clutches between the LS1 , LS6 , LS2 , and LS7 are interchangeable.( Maybe even LS3 )

But.... What is the difference in the flywheels ?
I think it has something to do with whether the LS Engine is being used in a late model Corvette with a torque tube and rear mounted transaxle OR a camaro or GTO with a front mounted transmission.

I was told that the Corvette flywheel has some hind of "hub" design ???
Is the crankshaft in a LS Corvette Engine different from an LS Camaro/GTO Engine ???

So , if a guy had a 2001 LS1/LS6 Engine , what flywheel / clutch could be used with a TKO 600 in a '68 Camaro ??

Thanks John.
I know you did some of this research when you put II Much together.

What combination did you use ??

When i did my LS7 clutch, the LS1 flywheel is different and will not bolt up to an LS7 clutch. Supposedly early LS7 flywheels had some sort of defect, and the LS2 flywheel (at least this was the case when I ordered my parts back in '06) shared the same part number as the LS7 flywheel.

So, in short, I'd go with an LS2 flywheel / LS7 clutch to stay safe. If for some reason they are making a separate LS7 flywheel again, that one will not bolt up to a stock LS1.

I'm not sure about the LS3/L92 stuff, but I'll find out when the new motor goes in.

Well... I'm using a Lunati crank, which is supposedly compatible with all the LS flywheels. And a standard LS1 clutch and flywheel taken out of the garbage over at Norris' shop. :)

the flywheels will all interchange, ls1, ls2,ls7 HOWEVER if you are running a ls1 clutch you need a ls1 flywheel, if you want to run a ls7 clutch you need to run a ls2 flywheel
