I found out today that the Top Fuel Team in my building will run their first NHRA race at Vegas next weekend. If you go, or if you watch, be sure and watch for them-Coghlan Motorsports. So far it looks like they will run about 6 or 7 races this year and sponsorship looks much more promising for next year.
They ran 7 races last year and did very well for a new team. It was kinda cool to help them load the car in the trailer today.
They have a new driver as of this week also, Brady Kalivoda

Here are the results from round two qualifing.
Looks like Coghlan Motorsports is #2 at the moment. They are the Old River Volvo team with Brady Kalivoda as driver. 4.490/329.42 mph, sounds like they are hauling ass.

This is a quote off the NHRA site about the Qualifying last night!
Results for Qualifying Round 2
LAS VEGAS - LAS VEGAS 1 - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Eighth annual NHRA SummitRacing.com Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Bob Vandergriff Runs 4.623/308.50, Now #4
Best prior run: 10.798/84.62, Was #21
Right Lane: Brady Kalivoda Runs 4.490/329.42, Now #1
Best prior run: 9.063/79.88, Was #19
8:19pm Weather conditions: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 17 percent, barometer 28.02 inches, adjusted altitude 3,575 feet, track temperature 83 degrees.
Well let's just hope this session of Top Fuel is half as exciting as Funny Car. Both drivers come into this round not yet qualified. We could see some very good numbers this session of qualifying. WOW WOW WOW Kalivoda not only goes to the #1 spot but he goes career best. That was awesome. He kept the car hooked all the way down and kept it in the groove. Vandergriff makes good run as the candles went out right at the finish line.Brady Kalivoda's incremental times: 60ft-0.857 sec., 330ft-2.143, 660ft-3.049/277.26mph, 1,000ft-3.819 We could see some BIG numbers this round.
.......But the biggest surprise is Brady Kalivoda's 4.490 as he is still the #2 qualifier. Thats wraps up the second session of qualifying and the day.

enough of the Force Family. I think they deserve some special coverage on the death of Medlin, but the constant interviewing of his daughter and that wife...damn..whoever did that plastic surgery..she looks twisted..considering the silver spoon up his daughter's As* and the whole deal served up on a platter, she's not showing me a lot. They have their own realty show..must they take over the weekly drag racing coverage too?
What John Q viewer wants. ie Orange County, Jessee James, and for goodness sakes Unique Whips..how goofy have you got to be to be entertained and even worse impressed with the work on those shows..I hope they get some negative feed back and get off the Force Bandwagon.
